Arjo Atayde’s camp assured the mayor and residents of Baguio City that they “will comply with our commitments to the city” after he and some companions had been called out for allegedly breaking health protocols while filming in the city. Atayde tested positive for COVID-19, along with nine others from the film crew.

“The Atayde family has reached out to Mayor Benjamin Magalong and we assure him and the people of Baguio that we will comply with our commitments to the city,” the actor’s production company Feelmaking Productions stated through its Instagram page today, Aug. 18.

“We are grateful for the opportunity to shoot in their beautiful city and apologize for whatever inconvenience that this unfortunate incident may have caused,” the production outlet added.

Feelmaking also made the assurance that it has coordinated with local officials for the “necessary safety protocols.” It said it has provided assistance for nine other crew members who tested positive for COVID-19. The crew members are asymptomatic and in quarantine.

Atayde was rushed to the hospital yesterday, Aug. 17, after suffering from high fever, headaches and difficulty in breathing.

“It was the mutual decision of Feelmaking Productions Inc., Arjo’s parents and doctors to rush the actor, who has a pre-existing medical condition, straight to a hospital in Manila on Aug. 17,” the production outlet explained.

Earlier today, Magalong ordered an investigation into alleged health protocol violations by Atayde and the film crew, who have been shooting in the city since last month.

Magalong noted that the group had been directed to stay in a bubble and were not allowed to leave Baguio during the duration of their shoot. However, it was claimed that they had been going in and out of the city without passing through triage.

The mayor claimed that the group had failed to undergo monthly testing as well, violating their commitment to the local government.  /ra
