TV stint made Phil appreciate Angel more
Although football remains Phil Younghusband’s top priority, he said it doesn’t stop him from trying out new things once in a while.
For the first time recently, he agreed to act in front of TV cameras as a guest in the sitcom “Toda Max,” which stars his real-life sweetheart Angel Locsin.
“I didn’t realize that acting was difficult … But it was fun. When I look back on it, it felt like a great experience. I feel very proud,” the Philippine Azkals striker told reporters during the launch of Chelsea Soccer School. The English football club partnered with the Younghusband Football Academy to bring the school into the country.
For the 24-year-old football star, the acting stint gave him a newfound appreciation of Angel’s profession.
“I admire Angel as an actress, but to see her working on the set, I was really in awe,” he said. “I admire her more now, seeing what she really goes through—all the hard work.”

Meanwhile, asked if he’s willing to take more acting jobs in the future, Phil said: “If it’s about promoting football … Maybe a movie where the side story is linked to the sport. I need to be in my comfort zone.”
