KC Concepcion reconnects with mom Sharon Cuneta on Christmas

KC Concepcion is embracing family and reconciliation this holiday season as she opened up about recently reconnecting with her mother, Sharon Cuneta, after the latter previously described their relationship as “estranged.”
Concepcion took to Instagram to wish her followers a Merry Christmas, as she shared that she recently had a meaningful conversation with Cuneta and reflected on the magic her mom brings to the holidays.
“Christmas will always be about love, laughter, and time with family for me… ending the year right with a conversation between Mama and I. She always makes the holidays extra magical and special,” she wrote.
Concepcion expressed desire to further strengthen her relationship with her mom, as she credited God for the guidance.
“For this year’s Christmas season, I’m taking my quiet space to pray, reflect, recharge, reset, and look forward to the blessings I know God has in store for me (and my family)! I know nanjan lang si God para samin and magiging ok ang lahat (God is always there for us and everything will be okay). Especially between my mama and me,” she said.

In May, Cuneta shared that she’s “very hurt” about the current status of her relationship with her daughter.
“Anuman ang problema namin ng panganay ko kasi at this point we’re estranged and I’m very, very hurt, and there are things na tama na ‘yun, there are things na amin na lang,” Cuneta told reporters at the time.
(Whatever the problems my firstborn and I have because at this point we’re estranged and I’m very, very hurt and there are things that should be met with a boundary; there are things that should just be for us.)
Despite the megastar’s statement, Concepcion penned a heartfelt message for her mother on Mother’s Day, promising that she will always strive to make her proud.
“To my beautiful mama, it’s your day… I pray for us to enjoy life’s pleasures and adventures together soon. You’re the first person I ever met and ever loved; it’s because of you that I’m here today,” she wrote on Instagram. “Trust in the way you raised me—I will always strive to make you proud and feel that having me was worth it.”
