Zack Tabudlo has become the latest Filipino artist to be featured on a digital billboard at New York City’s iconic Times Square.
“I never imagined myself in a situation like this. In all my years of becoming a musician, this never passed my mind. I never thought this would be possible,” Tabudlo admitted as he shared the news on Instagram yesterday, July 29.
The “Binibini” hitmaker’s billboard feature was for music streaming platform Spotify’s Global Radar list, which spotlights emerging artists from around the globe.
“A lot of doubts, struggles, and anxiety, goes into the process of reaching your dreams,” Tabudlo stressed. “I can now say that nothing is impossible.”
The post came with several photos of Tabudlo’s digital billboard, as well as video clips of him in tears as he celebrates the milestone.
“Thank you [Spotify] for such a big opportunity. I am honored to be one of the 10 artists in the global radar. To my team and family [MCA Music], [Island Records Philippines], thank you,” Tabudlo said.
“I wouldn’t be able to reach these milestones and everything I’ve accomplished so far without you. Thank you for your trust, support, and love,” he added.
Tabudlo also extended his gratitude to MCU Music managing director Enzo Valdez “for believing in [him] since day 1.”
“And of course to the fans! WON’T BE HERE WITHOUT YOU. I LOVE ALL OF YOU SO MUCH. WE’RE IN TIMES SQUARE!!!!! [LET’S] GO GLOBAL BABY!!!!!” Tabudlo emphasized.
Tabudlo also recently made it to American magazine Rolling Stone‘s list of international hits with his song, “Binibini.”
Prior to Tabudlo, several Filipino artists were also featured on Times Square, including Julie Anne San Jose, Nadine Lustre, Reese Lansangan, James Reid and Heart Evangelista. /ra
