Beauty queen Catriona Gray will be releasing her own version of the song “Raise Your Flag” on Friday, May 28, about two years after her words in the Miss Universe pageant inspired the track.

Gray dropped a snippet of her rendition, which she dubbed “R.Y.F.” on her Instagram page last Friday, May 21. She also showed the song’s cover art, which features her and some of the song’s lyrics written in gray stylings.

“Raise Your Flag” was originally performed by singer KZ Tandingan and rapper Kritiko. It was released in 2019 as a tribute to Gray after bringing home the Miss Universe 2018 crown.

The song was inspired by Gray’s answer to TV host Steve Harvey’s question: “You’re a singer and a musician. If you were going to write a song about your experience here at Miss Universe, what would you call it?”

“R.Y.F.” marks Gray’s third release since she kicked off her music career, following her duet with Jay-R “Angel of Mine” and the advocacy song “We’re In This Together.” JB
