Award-winning actress Sunshine Dizon admitted that transferring networks was what she needed for career growth in this time of her life.

“To be honest I’ve only had a very simple prayer when it comes to my career; I’ve always asked the Lord to plant me where I would bloom and in all the seasons of my life, I trusted His will. So, when this opportunity came, I just knew in my heart na ito na yung bagong (that this is the new) phase,” Dizon said in a press conference for the upcoming Kapamilya series “Marry Me, Marry You” yesterday, April 30.

“I am old and hopefully wise enough to know and understand that the only constant thing in life talaga (really) is change, so, whatever will propel you forward, I’m all for that,” the 37-year-old actress added.

The press conference for the said teleserye was held just after Dizon’s transfer to ABS-CBN was officially announced by the network.

Dizon shared that at the time ABS-CBN’s Dreamscape Entertainment production executive Deo Endrinal offered her a role in the said series, she just “knew in [her] heart it was meant to be.”

The actress also shared that she considered the practicality of transferring, noting that “work is work” for her and ABS-CBN propitiously came with a good offer.

“I need to work. When the opportunity came, at nagkataon naman din… To be honest, nagulat ako na ang ganda nu’ng offer,” she said.

(I need to work. When the opportunity came, it came at the right time… To be honest, I was also surprised because the offer was great.)

“I’m very confident of the script that they presented,” added Dizon, who will be starring alongside Janine Gutierrez, Paulo Avelino, Jake Ejercito and Cherry Pie Picache, among many others, in “Marry Me, Marry You.”

Dizon also emphasized that she is grateful for the opportunity ABS-CBN gave her, saying, “It’s a new season in my life and career and I am just very thankful and very excited to be given this opportunity to work for Kapamilya naman ngayon (now).”

She also admitted to loving director Ruedas Baltazar’s “Exes Baggage” starring Angelica Panganiban and Carlo Aquino, which made Dizon more excited as he will also be helming “Marry Me, Marry You.”

Aside from the director’s involvement in the project, Dizon is also looking forward to the environment as a Kapamilya artist, noting that the network has “actors that [she] really looks up to.”

“Kumbaga hindi talaga magkakaroon ng chance before na makakatrabaho ko eh (We really did not have a chance to work together before),” she explained.

“Siguro my career is coming to a full circle na maka-experience naman ako ng mga pinapanuod ko lang din noon, makakasama ko na ngayon,” Dizon added.

(Maybe my career is coming to a full circle so that I get to experience working with people I just used to watch before.)

Before becoming a Kapamilya, Dizon spent 25 years as a GMA talent and starred in many programs including “Ikaw Lang ang Mamahalin,” “Kung Mawawala Ka,” “Encantadia,” “La Vendetta” and, recently, “Magkaagaw.”

The drama veteran also recently ventured into directing and producing. Last January, she teamed up with filmmaker Mark Reyes as co-producer and associate director of “B&B: The Battle between Brody and Brandy.”  /ra
