Pia Wurtzbach on community pantries: ‘Everyone’s just trying to survive’
Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, taking note that it has been a year since the pandemic hit the country, spoke up that people should demand for a “better system,” while also acknowledging the rise of community pantries and what they reflect.
“For me, the community pantry is a really good initiative,” she said when a fan asked her about the matter on her Twitter page yesterday, April 27. She added that the effort is “proof of the undying spirit of Bayanihan.”
The beauty queen said she understands if people are hesitant to support the effort, but she believes that it is a “call” for people to help in every way they can.
“It’s been a year since the pandemic hit and everyone is just trying their best to survive,” she said. “We can and we should demand a better system.”

Wurtzbach urged her fans to extend help and to stay home if they can. She also encouraged them to get vaccinated against COVID-19 as soon as possible.
