Karla Estrada saluted her volunteer friends who helped set up a community pantry in Tacloban City to mark her son Daniel Padilla’s birthday.
“Maraming maraming salamat sa aking mga sangkay (kaibigan) sa Tacloban sa pag organisa ng pagkakawanggawa,” she said as she showed photos of the community pantry on her Instagram page yesterday, April 25. (Thank you very much to my friends in Tacloban for organizing this charitable event.)
The pantry had a tarpaulin with a birthday greeting for Padilla and a table filled with noodles, eggs, vegetables, biscuits and condiments. Estrada also showed photos of her friends and volunteers who helped distribute the goods.
“Ito ay buong puso nilang ginawa para sa pagsalubong sa kaarawan ni Daniel. Mabuhay kayo aking mga kaibigan!” she added. (They did this wholeheartedly to mark Daniel’s birthday. Long live, my friends!)
Estrada also distributed food and drinks to people on the street to celebrate Padilla’s birthday.
“‘Pag May Birthday sa pamilya, ‘matic na sa mga kasamahan ko sa bahay na dapat maraming imbitado! Pero dahil sa sitwasyon natin ay kami na lang maghahatid ng kaunting salu-salo sa inyo,” she said as she showed photos of her staff distributing packed meals and softdrinks on her Instagram page today, April 26.
(When someone in our family celebrates their birthday, everyone at home automatically knows that many people should be invited. But because of our situation, we will bring the festivities to people instead.)
Fellow celebrities have also greeted Padilla for his birthday, including Jhong Hilario, Marjorie Barretto and Estrada’s “Magandang Buhay” co-host Melai Cantiveros. JB
