Ogie Alcasid marks Regine Velasquez’s 51st birthday on Earth Day: ‘Kaarawan ng Mundo at ng aking Mundo’

OPM icon Ogie Alcasid shows nothing but love for his wife, Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez, as he celebrates the latter’s 51st birthday today, April 22.
As Earth Day is also being celebrated today, Alcasid took the chance to express just how much Velasquez means to him, saying on Instagram, “Ngayong araw ay kaarawan ng Mundo (Earth Day) at kaarawan din ng aking Mundo.”
(Today is the world’s birthday, Earth Day, which is also the birthday of my world.)”
Ang mga pagkakataong ito na tayong dalawa ang magkasama lagi ay di ko maipagpalit sapagka’t kahit minsan na tayo ay may munting tampuhan, lalo pag nag uumapaw ang pag-ibig ko sa yo,” Alcasid added in the post, which came with a sweet edited video of the couple “together over the years.”
(I will never replace these times of us together with anything because even if we fight sometimes, my love for you just grows more and more.)

“Dasal ko na lagi kang may kapayapaan sa iyong puso at damdamin kahit na ang mga misteryo at tila kaguluhan ng buhay ay kadalasan na nakapanghihina,” Alcasid stressed.
(I pray that you will always have peace in your heart even if the mysteries and seemingly chaotic nature of life are oftentimes disheartening.)
The loving husband also prayed for his wife’s strength, noting that she has so much more to offer in the art of singing, especially to other musicians who dream of achieving what Velasquez has.
“At sana’y mapanatili mo ang kaligayahang taglay mo lalo pa’t alam mo na ang daan, katotohanan at buhay na walang hanggan ay nanggagaling sa ating Panginoon at tagapagligtas,” he said.

“Mahal na mahal kita Regine. Sunod kay Hesus, ikaw ang buhay ko (I love you very much, Regine. Next to Jesus, you are my life). Happy bday my love,” Alcasid added.
The longtime lovers will be celebrating their 11th wedding anniversary on Dec. 22. They got the first COVID-19 vaccine doses together last week. /ra
