Gary Valenciano talked about his experience so far with quarantine after his wife Angeli Pangilinan tested positive for COVID-19.

Valenciano, who tested negative for the virus, confirmed that Pangilinan caught the disease alongside two other staff members in their home. They have been in separate rooms as they quarantine but all of them were not showing any symptoms of the virus, as he stated in his YouTube vlog earlier today, March 25.

“My wife is okay. We FaceTime like this every once in a while. Somehow, it’s made the bond even stronger because I do miss having her with me,” he stated.

Despite this, Valenciano is still grateful that he and his wife have their children with them as they face the unfortunate experience together. Over the past few days, Pangilinan showed photos of their children sending her messages and gifts from afar. She showed photos of their daughter Kiana sending her hand-written messages from her bedroom window.

“Love u mom, be negative,” Kiana said in her note shown on Instagram last Monday, March 22. Meanwhile, their son Gab sent her a huge bouquet of flowers as he wished for her to get well soon, as seen in a video on her Instagram page the following day.

Since none of the people in his household are experiencing symptoms, Valenciano remains optimistic that they will pull through.

“COVID-19 does not necessarily equate to one losing his or her life,” he said, recalling his experience with bypass surgery and kidney cancer in 2018.

“Whatever happens, I’m not going to go through it alone. I may not even go through it at all,” he added.

Valenciano said his PCR test from March 17 came back negative but he will remain in quarantine for 14 days, until he is cleared to go back to work. He also urged others who were exposed to the virus to do the same.

Just like Valenciano, Pangilinan is also optimistic about her situation when she revealed her COVID-19 diagnosis last Saturday, March 20. She said she considers the disease as “just another hurdle” that she will survive. JB
