Dionne Monsanto retires from show biz: ‘An amazing 18 years’

Dionne Monsanto announced her retirement from the showbiz industry today, Feb. 25.

The former actress made the revelation while guesting on “Magandang Buhay” in an episode that aired today.

“I want to say thank you so much. This is my last guesting ’cause I’m retiring. I am already retired,” she said. “’Hello, Stranger’ is actually my last project and this is my last guesting. So, thank you so much ‘Magandang Buhay.’”

Monsanto is currently in Switzerland with her fiance, Ryan Stalder. She marked her first month in the country yesterday, Feb. 24.


She announced that they got engaged in early February. The engagement took place in Kandersteg, Switzerland. She and Stalder, who is Filipino-Swiss, have been dating since 2018.

Monsanto, who hails from Cebu, expressed gratitude to those who helped make her acting career happen on Instagram.

“This day 14 years ago, our batch (PBB Season 2) was launched. Today, my last TV guesting for @_magandangbuhay aired,” she said.

“I started acting professionally in 2002 for ABS-CBN RNG. It has been an amazing 18 years. Thank you for helping this small-town girl achieve her dreams. I am forever grateful.”  /ra
