The much-anticipated “Snyder Cut” of the 2017 film “Justice League” from the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) will finally drop after years of waiting.

The said superhero flick will be available via streaming service HBO Max starting March 18, director Zack Snyder revealed through a series of tweets yesterday, Jan. 29.

“Fallen,” “Risen” and “Reborn,” the filmmaker simply captioned three tweets announcing the release date of the “Snyder Cut.”

Officially titled “Zack Snyder’s Justice League,” the film will retell the story of the DCEU’s heroes coming together to thwart the threat of Steppenwolf and his Parademons on earth.

The Snyder cut will be airing as a four-episode event under HBO Max, according to The Hollywood Reporter back in October 2020.

The 2017 “Justice League,” which had been heavily criticized among superhero fans and moviegoers, was initially directed by Snyder before Joss Whedon took over.

Snyder had to let go of the project back then due to his daughter’s death. Warner Bros. recruited Whedon to take his place. Reshooting and continuing production, he left some of Snyder’s unfinished scenes out of the final cut.

In the trailer released last year, “Snyder Cut” shows several changes from the original film, such as the introduction of Darkseid and Superman’s black suit.

Jared Leto, who was not part of the original film, will also be appearing as the legendary DC villain Joker, which he played in “Suicide Squad.” This implies that there is a lot more new content than previously thought.  /ra
