After rumors of him returning as Captain America surfaced online, Chris Evans addressed it by letting fans know he apparently had knowledge of it himself.

“News to me [shrugging emoji],” Evans tweeted earlier today, Jan. 15, leaving fans to speculate if he is confirming or denouncing the news that he is in talks with Marvel Studios to reprise the iconic role.

Fans, nonetheless, are still encouraging Evans to don his superhero suit one more time. For one, Twitter user @drysdale replied, “SIGN THE CONTRACT AND COME BACK.”

In an exclusive report from Deadline yesterday, Jan. 14, unidentified sources claimed that Evans is already negotiating with Marvel to see him return as Steve Rogers in one MCU flick, although they noted that it is still vague if the deal is already closed.

The said sources also said that his appearance must be minor and cannot be in another “Captain America” film, as he has already passed on the title to fellow Avenger Sam Wilson, aka the Falcon (played by Anthony Mackie).

Evans last played Captain America in 2019’s “Avengers: Endgame,” where fans saw him finally retire from his superhero gig and hand over his shield to the Falcon.  /ra
