The late screen veteran Ronaldo Valdez was remembered by his children, Janno and Melissa Gibbs, as well as his daughter-in-law Bing Loyzaga, as he marked his first death anniversary on Tuesday, December 17.

On Instagram, Janno marked Valdez’s death anniversary by sharing an old photo of himself as a child, while he’s carried by the late screen veteran.

“To dance [with] my father again. [It’s] been a year. Still missing you,” he captioned his post.

Meanwhile, Melissa shared photos of herself attending mass and a photo of what seems to be Valdez’s urn, along with throwback pictures of Valdez.

“In Loving memory of a Father who will forever hold a special place in our hearts. One year may have passed, but your love remains with us.”I miss you so much papa but I know you are now reunited with our Creator and Savior,” she wrote.

Loyzaga, on the other hand, looked back on a past family vacation with their family, including Valdez and her mother-in-law, Maria Fe.

“You always lit up the room. It’s been a year. Missing you,” she said.

Born Ronald James Dulaca Gibbs, the screen veteran was found dead in his home in New Manila, Quezon City on the afternoon of Dec. 17, 2023. His career lasted for almost five decades with his last film being “Ikaw at Ako” in the same year.

One of his final projects included the 2022 romantic comedy “2 Good 2 Be True” starring Daniel Padilla and  Kathryn Bernardo, with whom Valdez developing a close friendship.

The actor also made a posthumous appearance in the 2024 film “Itutumba Ka ng Tatay Ko,” in which Janno served as the director, screenwriter, and lead actor.

Valdez is best known for his appearances in the films “May Minamahal,” “Seven Sundays,” and “Labs Kita… Okey Ka Lang?” He is also notable for his father figure-centered roles in the dramas “Mula sa Puso,” “Ang Munting Paraiso,” and “Sa Dulo ng Walang Hanggan.”
