KathNiel to star in new series this 2021
Reel-and-real-life partners Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla will once again be teaming up for another series this year.
The KathNiel tandem has earlier starred in another series, “The House Arrest of Us,” which will air its finale on Jan. 16. Their new small screen project, as per writer Juan Miguel Severo’s tweet yesterday, Jan. 13, is still in the writing phase.
“Panahon na naman ng pag-ibig, (It is the season for love again),” Severo stated, showing the cover page for the still-untitled show’s draft two of the pilot script, which names him as the one who conceptualized it.

Prior to the tweet, Bernardo also teased fans with the upcoming series through a bloggers conference held yesterday for the finale of her and Padilla’s digital series, “The House Arrest of Us.”
“Una, excited kami sa teleserye na gagawin, kasi yung concept nun, nanggaling kay Gege (Severo). So, it’s something na gusto namin ni DJ talaga kaya medyo nadelay dahil inaayos pa yung script. We’re happy because we’re working on a project na gusto namin yung concept,” she said.
(First, we are excited about the upcoming teleserye, because the concept came from Gege. So it’s something that DJ and I really like, and it got slightly delayed because they are still polishing the script. We’re happy because we’re working on a project with a concept that we like.)
When asked if the concept of the series will be similar to that of the music video of Ben&Ben’s “Sa Susunod na Habang Buhay,” where Bernardo and Padilla starred in, the actress replied that the two will not be “very similar.”
“Malayo sa last na ginawa namin, which excites me and DJ, kasi matagal na naming gusto gumawa ng ganitong klase pero mahirap ito sa execution. Kailangan talaga ng time namin for that,” she stressed.
(This is very different from the last one we made, which excites me and DJ because we have been wanting to do something like this for so long but the execution is hard. We really need time for that.) JB
