Catriona Gray was visibly touched after getting a birthday greeting from boyfriend Sam Milby on the variety show “Sunday Noontime Live” yesterday, Jan. 3. She turns 27 on Jan. 6.
She reportedly even shed tears backstage following his video greeting, as per an exclusive report by Inquirer Bandera yesterday.
The Miss Universe 2018 winner was treated to birthday wishes before her production number of Alessia Cara’s “Scars to Your Beautiful.” She appeared surprised when she had another greeting after her performance from Milby.
“Happy birthday, I’m sure that your birthday prod went pretty well, so congratulations, I’m proud of you,” he said. “I just want to honor you. You have a heart full of compassion and empathy and you always [put] people first. And you’re such a big blessing to a lot of people, but you’re also such a big blessing in my life.”
“So, thank you for who you are and I really hope that God grants all the desires of your heart because you deserve it,” he said. “I love you, Koala. Happy birthday.’’
The entire time, the usually poised Gray could be seen giddy and grinning as her boyfriend gave his touching message.
A source told Inquirer Bandera that the beauty queen let her emotions out during the commercial break and cried until she reached her dressing room.
“Di talaga niya ini-expect at first time nag-express si Sam ng ‘I love you’ in public tapos sinabi pa ang pet name sa kanya, iyong Koala nga,” the source explained.
(She did not expect it and it was the first time that Sam said “I love you” in public and he uttered her pet name for her, which is “Koala.”)
The couple is reportedly in Ohio in the United States and will spend the whole January there.
Milby confirmed that the two are in a relationship last May, during his 36th birthday, ending months of speculation. Niña V. Guno/JB
