Pia Guanio has proven that one can take mean comments in stride even in social media, where anyone is free to say what they want with the protection of anonymity.
The TV host and actress was discussing skincare in an Instagram post on Thursday, Dec. 3, when an anonymous Instagram user made remarks about her looks.
“Don’t act like [you’re] young coz your face tells your age 46, sorry, we are just being honest,” said the commenter. “Kawawa ka naman, trying hard ka masyado (How pitiful, you are trying too hard).”
Guanio stayed drama-free and unbothered in her reply. “[You’ve] been very critical of me. I just want to say God bless you and give you whatever you need to have peace!”
Fans were quick to thumb down the ageist remarks, with some stating that the Instagram user was probably jealous.
Still, Guanio advocated kindness: “We must bless and not curse. Thank you and God bless you all!”
The “Eat Bulaga!” host, a mom of two, has defied expectations of age after decades in the industry. Besides looking fresh and fit, she welcomed her second child, Brooklyn, in 2017 at 42 years old. JB
