Beauty queen Rachel Peters saves man from drowning in ocean
Miss Universe Philippines 2017 Rachel Peters, a known lover of the sea, was able to save a drowning man caught by a riptide.
Peters, a self-admitted “beach bum,” committed the heroic act last Sunday, Nov. 29, according to her fiance, Camarines Sur Governor Migz Villafuerte.
“So proud of my girl @rachelpetersx for saving this guy’s life who got caught in a strong riptide earlier! [Very] close call,” Villafuerte posted on Instagram on the same day.

On the day that Peters saved a life, she lost her dog Milo, whom she had just rescued. “I lost my little love this morning, but was in the right place at the right time to save a drowning surfer because I did a little paddle out for you,” she said on Sunday.
Peters and Villafuerte, who have been together for more than six years, made their engagement public in November 2019. NVG
