Taylor Lautner not returning in upcoming ‘Sharkboy and Lavagirl’ reboot
“Twilight” star Taylor Lautner will not be reprising his role as “Sharkboy” in the upcoming standalone sequel of the 2005 hit “The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3-D.”
The said film, titled “We Can Be Heroes,” sees the childhood favorite duo as parents to Guppy, who is played by “Bird Box” star Vivien Lyra Blair.
Fans pointed out Lautner’s absence from the film after Netflix released the first set of official photos yesterday, Nov. 18 The said pictures show Taylor Dooley back as the now older Lavagirl, while JJ Dashnaw dons Lautner’s fins.

One Twitter user with the handle @MArmstrong2908 had some strong words for Lautner’s absence.

Director Robert Rodriguez, who helmed “The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3-D,” returned to write and direct “We Can Be Heroes.” The film will premiere on New Year’s Day. /ra
