Angel Locsin, Parlade clear up red-tagging issues in meeting
MANILA, Philippines — Lt. Gen. Antonio Parlade Jr. and actress Angel Locsin met on Monday and were able to clear up the red-tagging cloud between them.
“In a meeting held today between AFP Southern Luzon Command Chief Lt. General Antonio Parlade, Jr. and actress Angel Locsin, the issues that cropped up these past weeks including the allegations against her and her sister Angela “Ella” Colmenares, were discussed, threshed out and cleared,” lawyer Joji Alonso in an Instagram post.
According to Alonso, Locsin condemned all forms of violence and terrorism and expressed her support for the government in its efforts to ensure the safety and protection of its citizens.
In turn, Parlade hailed Locsin for her contributions to the “AFP and her continuing advocacy to help the poor, impoverished and the helpless.”
Previously, Parlade accused Locsin’s sister, Ella Colmenares, of joining the New People’s Army (NPA) in 2005.
He also alleged that Locsin was one of Colmenares’ supporters while her sister was reportedly underground.
