Angel Locsin, Bretman Rock and fellow celebrities are urging the public to extend help to Cagayan Valley as parts of it have been submerged in floods caused by Typhoon Ulysses.
Locsin spoke about the region’s current situation after her supporters left comments with “#CagayanNeedsHelp” on her Instagram page, as per her Instagram Stories earlier today, Nov. 14.
The actress then asked members of the news industry if they could check on the valley’s situation to raise awareness on it and give them help.
Several residents of Sta. Maria, Isabela sent photos to INQUIRER.net that showed houses submerged in water after the typhoon ravaged parts of the province and other areas of Luzon.
The flooding also prompted the residents to seek help on social media via the hashtag #CagayanNeedsHelp, which trended on Twitter last night.
Following the calls for help on the platform, Bretman Rock also shed light on the province.
“Praying for my [hometown] in the Philippines, we were struck with [four] typhoons and childhood home is literally submerged underwater,” the vlogger said. “I know there are so many things happening in the world right now but I just thought I would bring some awareness to this #prayforcagayan.”

The province of Cagayan was placed under a state of calamity earlier today due to the massive flooding brought by the typhoon. Cagayan Governor Manuel Mamba also noted that apart from Ulysses, the flooding was likewise caused by the release of water from Magat Dam and heavy siltation of waterways. NVG
