Nadine Lustre showed her artistry in full force in her first visual album “Wildest Dreams,” which dropped on her birthday, Oct. 31.

The 12 tracks in the album, which have an R&B and pop sound, were a collaboration between Lustre and artists Bret Jackson, James Reid, Massiah and Marcus Davis from record label Careless Music. “Wildest Dreams” is Lustre’s first full-length album.

The actress’s 33-minute visual album, directed by Dominic Bekaert, shows her passion not only for music but also for storytelling. Lustre appears to be exploring her identity and embracing her true self — as a phrase repeated throughout the album is “I give myself permission to love myself.”

The imagery is striking and surreal, mixing elements such as Philippine folklore, the cosmos and the glitz of fame. Animation and graphics help tie each song to the next.

She admitted that she allowed herself to be more “vulnerable” and that her main inspiration for the songs and the visual album was her own dreams and her reflections on them.
