Barbie Imperial expressed concern for her family in Catanduanes whom she said she has not heard from in the wake of Typhoon Rolly.

“I have been messaging my family in Catanduanes, still no response from them. Please #NoticeCatanduanes,” she appealed, also using the hashtag #NasaanAngCatanduanes.

The actress, who hails from Albay, has been on social media wishing her fellow Bicolanos to stay safe.

#NoticeCatanduanes has been shared on Twitter as Filipinos seek media coverage of the island that has been hit hard by Typhoon Rolly on Sunday, Nov. 1. The super typhoon (international name: Goni) made its first landfall in Bato town yesterday morning.

Communication lines in the province have been damaged, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) today, Nov. 2. Teams have already been deployed to restore the communication lines. The NDRRMC noted in its initial assessment that “four out of 10 houses” in Catanduanes have been “heavily damaged.” JB
