Paulo Avelino comes face to face with his biggest fan after she sneaks into his car in the trailer for the upcoming film “Fan Girl.”

It tells the story of a teenage girl who spends a night with her celebrity idol in a mansion and later learns “exactly why they say never meet your heroes.”

Project 8 Projects posted the short video on its YouTube page last Thursday, Oct. 22. It first shows Avelino leaving a mall show with his fellow celebrity Bea Alonzo.

They then part ways and Avelino enters his own pickup truck, drives off and bids goodbye to a large group of fans. Prior to entering his vehicle, a teenage girl in a school uniform manages to sneak into its trunk and hide under a blanket.

Despite her effort to hide, the actor eventually finds her after she makes a sound in her sleep. As Avelino appears to leave her, the girl begs him not to abandon her, explaining that she is his No. 1 fan.

Avelino agrees and lets her ride in the passenger seat. While he drives, the fan tells him how she got in his truck and expresses her admiration for the actor.

However, Avelino may not be who the fan girl sees him. The trailer quickly shows scenes of the actor doing drugs and beating a woman while the fan’s voice plays over them, listing the qualities she likes about him.

As the trailer ends, it suddenly shifts to a scene where the girl appears injured and afraid while she cradles a woman who seems to be unconscious.

Filmmaker Antoinette Jadaone wrote and directed the movie, which stars Charlie Dizon opposite Avelino. It will be making its world premiere at the 2020 Tokyo International Film Festival. The festival runs from Oct. 31 to Nov. 9.  /ra
