“Sa tuwing lumalabas ako para magtrabaho puno ako ng takot dahil sa pandemiang ito, pero kailanagan ko kasi gusto ko pa madugtungan ang buhay mo mama ko,” Pokwang, whose real name is Marietta Subong, said on Twitter.
(Everytime I go out to work, I am full of fear because of this pandemic. Still, I have to because I want to extend my mother’s life.)
“Salamat sa pagmamahal mo at kalinga sa’ming mga anak mo at apo. Paalam mama ko, mahal ka namin sobra..” she added.
(Thank you for loving your children and grandchildren. Goodbye, my mother, we love you very much.)
In an Instagram post, Pokwang called Gloria “the best mom in the whole world.”

“Every one…. ito ang aking nanay… si nanay Gloria woohoo… i love you soooo much…. kung di dahil sa kanya wala ako sa earth para mapasaya kayo,” she said.
(Everyone, this is my mother Gloria, woohoo, I love you soooo much, if it weren’t for her, I wouldn’t be in this Earth to entertain you.)
It was in 2016 when Pokwang revealed her mother had Alzheimer’s disease that causes problems with memory, thinking and behavior.
Pokwang, in an Instagram post in 2018, recalled that it was back in 2012 when Gloria was still able to recall her name and hug her.
