Korina Sanchez could not help but gush over her twins Pepe and Pilar when they surprised her with a quick visit to mark her special day.
Sanchez posted a moment from their sweet drive-by on her Instagram page on Oct. 4, showing them inside a car with her husband, Mar Roxas. The journalist turned a year older on Oct. 5.
She is currently living away from them as she resumes working on her “Rated Korina” program amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Sanchez added that while she has already returned to work, she sees her kids more often now.
“My kids visited and did a surprise visit to me in their covid-free bubble driven by husband to just give me their birthday greetings awwwwwww……. soooooo happpyyyyyy!” she said.
“Naunahan nila ako [kasi] (They did it before me because) I was about to visit them at home through the glass doors,” Sanchez added.
Following their unannounced visit, she later shared a video from the surprise in a separate post.
The short video featured the twins holding adorable signs that read “Happy Birthday Mommy” and “We Miss You.” The pieces of paper also had hearts and outlines of their feet and hands drawn on them.
Though the visit was brief, Sanchez made sure to see them again the day after to celebrate her birthday. Along with the surprise from her kids, Sanchez also marked her special day by giving away slippers to the residents of the TUP compound in Taguig City.
Sanchez is known for leading the “Isang Milyong Tsinelas” campaign, which aims to help impoverished kids by providing them with slippers. /ra
