Elwes and Robin Wright, who played the film’s star-crossed lovers Westley and Buttercup, will join the reading.
Director Rob Reiner, Mandy Patinkin, Billy Crystal, Carol Kane, Chris Sarandon, Wallace Shawn and special guests will also take part in the online event which will have a Q&A moderated by Patton Oswalt.
The virtual reunion is a fundraiser for the Democratic Party of Wisconsin.
“Anything you donate will be used to ensure that [President Donald] Trump loses Wisconsin, and thereby the White House,” the event page promises.
One must be a United States citizen or permanent resident and should chip in any amount to get a link to the event.
The film chronicles the love between Buttercup, who lives on a farm, and Westley, a farmhand. After believing Westley to be left for dead, she is forced into marriage with Prince Humperdinck (Sarandon). Westley attempts to rescue her with some unlikely companions, making for an adventure comedy that would continue to attract fans through the years. JB
