Kapamilya crooner Jason Dy unveiled a soul-stirring single that will make fans and followers “want to listen more.”
Dy, who is dubbed as the “The Voice of R&B” and “Prince of Soul,” released early on Friday, Sep. 4, the four-minute R&B track titled “Gusto Ko Pa,” which has a touch of new wave and dream pop genre and is done with ethereal textures and breathy vocals.
The new track, whose lyrics and music were written by Dy himself, was produced in collaboration with his co-artist Jay R Sillona, who is known as the King of R&B. It is exclusively released under Cornerstone Music.
Prior to the release, Dy shared a glimpse of his newest single with teaser materials infused with illuminating visuals and neo-psychedelic ambiance.
The musician’s latest single, which is about unrequited love, was inspired by American artist James Turrell, who primarily uses light and space as his works’ medium, according to an exclusive feature by Garage Magazine. This was also confirmed by the R&B singer himself during a Facebook Live on Thursday night, Sept. 3.
Dy’s new single is now available for streaming on Apple Music, Spotify, iTunes, Deezer and other major digital music stores. It has already entered the iTunes Store’s Top Songs list and is currently on the third spot, coming after K-pop trending songs “Dynamite” by BTS and “Ice Cream” by BLACKPINK and Selena Gomez. /ra
