After 2 postponements, what’s next for Kris’ comeback show on TV5
One minute it’s on, the next one it’s not.
The fate of Kris Aquino’s television comeback has been seesawing for the past few months.
She started hinting about her return to the small screen in June and announced that the “moment” has “finally arrived,” after signing a “confidential” contract. Kris posted teasers of her supposed new talk show, “Love Life with Kris,” which is to be line-produced by an independent company and aired on blocktime on TV5.
A date was set: July 25. But three weeks before the premiere, news broke that it had been canceled.
The next month, Kris was seen at TV5’s headquarters, where she did a promo shoot and met with Raffy Tulfo. The encounter sparked talks that Kris’ show might be pushing through after all. True enough, the broadcast journalist later on announced on his popular public affairs program “Idol in Action” that “Love Life with Kris” will air starting Aug. 15.

“We’re open naman. We’re an independent company and can work with a lot of people and anyone in the business. That’s how life is as independent producers—we have to work with everybody. So that’s always a possibility,” Archangel Media COO Joe Oconer said at a recent video press conference.
President and CEO Mike Tuviera, who also works for his father Tony Tuviera’s APT Entertainment, said that “we’re friends with Kris.”
“We were supposed to do some projects before [with APT], but things fell through, whether it be because of scheduling, or whatnot,” he said. “We have no problem at all.”
However, the entertainment company is currently focused on improving their ongoing programs on TV5, “Chika Besh,” “Fill in the Bank” and “Bawal na Game Show”). Mike also related that they already have a lineup of other pitches and concepts they had already started working on.
“Tuloy-tuloy lang. That’s how content creation is … it doesn’t really end,” he said, adding that they’re already in talks with TV5 executives about their next collaborations.
“Even if the shows have already been launched, the process of improvement and evolution don’t stop. You continue to prepare new shows, new cast, etc. We want to see it as a holistic approach,” he said. “We want to give really good content; different genres and styles and give content that will make people positive. That’s our driving force.”
