LOOK: Dante Gulapa sells ‘lumpia’ after losing gigs amid COVID-19

Dante Gulapa has started selling “lumpia” to support his three children after losing gigs due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The internet sensation, who went viral last year for his “eagle dance,” spoke about his new endeavor on his Facebook page last Aug. 18.

Gulapa noted that he would personally bring the orders to customers in Malabon City and nearby areas such as Barangay Karuhata in Valenzuela City and Bagong Barrio in Caloocan City.

Meanwhile, orders for those residing outside the said areas can have the food delivered through couriers such as Grabfood and Foodpanda.

Gulapa revealed last month that he is one of the many Filipinos that have lost work due to the coronavirus crisis. He also stated that he and his wife were not living in the same house at the time due to quarrels.

While he is set to receive money from people he lent to in the past, Gulapa said that it has been hard for him to collect due to the crisis. He also admitted that he has no work experience and asked for advice on what he can do to provide for his family during these unprecedented times.

The Social Weather Station (SWS) reported that 45.5% or 27.3 million Filipino adults have been unemployed as of last month, a new record high from the 34.4% logged in March 2012. JB
