DJ Chacha laments last 45 days of MOR 101.9 after ABS-CBN shutdown
Radio jock Czarina Balba, popularly known as DJ Chacha, lamented the imminent shutdown of her station of over a decade, MOR 101.9, as ABS-CBN begins closing its operations following its franchise denial.
After 12 years of service, DJ Chacha on Aug. 30 will finally be going off air, 45 days from now, she stated on Facebook earlier today, July 16.
“One of the lowest points of my life. I still can’t believe I have to say goodbye to my first love. My forever love. My dream job. 12 years,” the radio jock said.
“This is not just work for me. This not just about money. I LOVE THIS STATION SO MUCH,” DJ Chacha added.

“Sending hugs to all the Kapamilya [employees] who are also experiencing the same pain that I’m going through now,” she added.
Against a landslide 70 votes, only 11 lawmakers voted in favor of renewing ABS-CBN’s franchise, while two inhibited and one chose to abstain.
“Lord, alam kong may mas maganda kang plano para sa aming lahat. Yakapin mo ang bawat isa sa aming lahat. Mahirap magpasaya ng nagdurugo ang puso pero kakayanin namin ito,” the radio jock prayed.
(Lord, I know you have better plans for us all. Please hug each and every one of us. It is hard to cheer others up when our heart is aching but we will come through.)
“We will give our best! Last 45 days para magpasaya mga kaMORkada. Last 45 days to say ‘MOR 101.9 my only Radio For Life!,'” she added.
DJ Chacha was among the most vocal personalities who pushed to have ABS-CBN’s franchise renewed. Back in February, she called out Sen. Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa after the latter reaffirmed his stance against ABS-CBN. JB
