Though the praise for “Through Night and Day” comes years after it first screened in cinemas, Alessandra De Rossi has been grateful to viewers for their positive reviews.
The actress shared on Twitter yesterday, July 13, that “Through Night and Day,” which premiered in 2018, is first in Netflix Philippines’ top 10 movies.
Ay. Taray. Never ako nag top 1 nung elementary. Ito na yata yun. 😂❤️ pic.twitter.com/mj4bskO4Iu

“Ay. Taray. Never ako [nag-top 1] nung elementary. Ito na yata yun,” De Rossi mused.
(Oh. Wow. I was never top 1 in elementary. I guess this is it.)
When a fan noted that her movie beat “The Old Guard” starring Charlize Theron, De Rossi joked that she and Theron had a chat.
“Nagtext na ako sa kanya at nagsorry. Sabi nya, teh?! Philippines ka lang?! Ayun. Nagtagalog si Charlize Theron.”
(I texted her and said sorry. She said, sis?! You’re just the Philippines?! So there. Charlize Theron spoke in Tagalog.)

De Rossi stars opposite Paolo Contis in the film, where they portray a couple about to be married. Their relationship gets tested when they take a trip to Iceland.
She revealed that she nearly wrote and directed “Through Night and Day” in a tweet on Sunday, July 12. She said she ended up leaving those tasks to scriptwriter Noreen Capili and director Veronica Velasco since she was the lead actress in the film and ended up being impressed with their work. /ra
