Julia Montes’s handler clears rumors on GMA transfer
With the fate of ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal still hanging before Congress, rumors have been circulating that talents plan to move to another network.
Among those rumored to be jumping ship is Julia Montes, Inquirer Bandera reported today, July 6. Her talent management Cornerstone Entertainment is supposedly in negotiations with GMA.
When asked about the speculations, Montes’s handler Mac Merla clarified with Inquirer Bandera that they have no clue about it.
“Buti pa sila alam nila. Ako, kausap ko lang si Julia kani-kanina lang wala kaming kaalam-alam,” he told Inquirer Bandera. “Wala rin kaming napag-uusapan tungkol sa paglipat ni Julia.”
(Good for them that they know. I just spoke to Julia a while ago and we have no idea. We also have no discussions about Julia’s transfer.)

(I am not sure if it has really been shelved. What I know is that taping is postponed first because of what is happening.)
Montes’s manager Erickson Raymundo, Cornerstone CEO and president, also recently spoke to Inquirer Bandera about their talents’ situation. When asked if Cornerstone talents have offers from other networks, he said their talents will stay with ABS-CBN since they are being treated well by the network.
Like many Kapamilya stars, Montes has expressed her support for ABS-CBN on social media after it was ordered to be shut down last May.
