Ai-Ai delas Alas poked fun at a blog post which claimed that she died after getting shot inside her car.
The actress debunked the hoax on her Instagram page yesterday, July 5, alongside a screenshot of the false report.
The report came from a blog titled gmanewsupsimelda.blogspot.com and featured a photo of police approaching a car. A portrait of delas Alas was superimposed on the picture as well. The site stated that the whole accident was recorded by a security camera.
“Ito po ay fake news.. AKO AY BUHAY (This is fake news.. I AM ALIVE),” delas Alas clarified.
She then mentioned a superstition which supposedly claims that when one dies in the news, or if one dreams of dying, the person will instead have a longer life.
“[B]uti nalang maganda [ako] sa picture kung hindi magagalit ako (At least I’m beautiful in the picture, because if not, I will get angry) haha,” delas Alas said in jest.
Following the comedienne’s post, Marian Rivera also later laughed at delas Alas’ supposed death.
“[laughing emoj] Miss you Kambal (twin)!” Rivera said. Delas Alas then joking asked Rivera not to cry because she is still alive.
Aside from delas Alas, Gab Valenciano was also the victim of a similar death hoax last September. But Gab’s father, veteran singer Gary Valenciano, was quick to warn the public of the false reports and advised others to “not believe such news immediately.” JB
