New ‘Phineas and Ferb’ movie slated for August release

The upcoming movie for the hit Disney animated show “Phineas and Ferb” is set to premiere on Aug. 28 via the media conglomerate’s streaming service platform.

The long-awaited film will follow the journey of genius stepbrothers Phineas and Ferb as they set out to outer space to save their sister Candace, who gets abducted by aliens, as per Variety on July 2.

“Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Candace against the Universe,” based on the Emmy-winning series that ran from 2007 to 2015, is set to come out exclusively on Disney+ (Disney Plus).

“There’s 1̶0̶4̶ ̶d̶a̶y̶s̶ ̶o̶f̶ ̶s̶u̶m̶m̶e̶r̶ ̶v̶a̶c̶a̶t̶i̶o̶n̶ 57 days until we reunite with our fave siblings in an intergalactic adventure,” the streaming service announced on Twitter yesterday, July 3.

Vincent Martella will be returning to voice Phineas Flynn, while David Errigo Jr. replaces British actor Thomas Brodie-Sangster as Ferb Fletcher.

American actress Ashley Tisdale will also be returning as the two brothers’ older sister, Candace. Show creators and executive producers Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh will, meanwhile, lend their voices again as the evil Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz and Major Monogram, respectively.

“MOM PHINEAS AND FERB ARE DOING A MOVIEEEEEE….. About MEEEEEEEE!” Tisdale, channeling her character, meanwhile, teased on Twitter earlier today, July 4.

The cast will be joined by Ali Wong (“American Housewife”) as Super Super Big Doctor, Wayne Brady (“Whose Line Is It Anyway?”) as Stapler Fist, Diedrich Bader (“American Housewife”) as Borthos, and Thomas Middleditch (“Silicon Valley”) as Garnoz, according to the report.  /ra
