Coney Reyes looked back on some sweet moments with her son, Pasig City mayor Vico Sotto, as he turned 31 years old today, June 17.
The veteran actress greeted Sotto a happy birthday alongside a series of throwback photos, which she posted on her Instagram page. The pictures showed Sotto at a young age with his doting mother.
Along with the nostalgic photos, Reyes also penned a short yet heartfelt message for her son.
“I will always be here praying for you, helping you in any and every way I can,” she said. “I love you so much, son! I praise and thank God for you [every day].”
She ended her greeting with a quote from Psalm 20:4-5 in the Bible, which talks about requests granted and plans succeeding.
While others usually mark their birthday with parties and gifts, Sotto decided to celebrate in another way. The mayor asked those who planned on buying him a present to donate food packs to the needy instead.
He also requested for people not to throw him a surprise party, adding that he is not fond of them and that mass gatherings are still not allowed during the general community quarantine. JB
