Veteran actress Lilia Dizon passes away at 92

MANILA, Philippines — Veteran actress Lilia Dizon passed away on Monday morning, her daughter Toni Abad said.

Dizon, the mother of seasoned actor Christopher De Leon, died at 8:20 a.m. reportedly at the age of 92.

“The angels are rejoicing! Mom is now worshiping our Lord Jesus Christ not by faith, but by sight. She is now with our father God in heaven. No more pain, no more tears, no more suffering,” Abad posted on Facebook.

Dizon was one of the brightest stars of LVN Pictures in the 1950s, starring in different films including “Bathaluman,” “Sanda Wong,” and “Kandelerong Pilak,” where she won the best actress award in the Asian Filmfest held in Cambodia in the 1950s.
