Singer-songwriter Juan Karlos Labajo disproved rumors online that he was dead and emphasized that he would not be leaving his supporters any time soon.
“With all the speculations and rumors going around of his passing, we officially announce with a heavy heart, that Juan Karlos Labajo, a loving friend, brother, son, and lover, is still alive and ready to rock and roll. Suck it, haters,” he said on Instagram yesterday, June 6.
The Juan Karlos frontman’s announcement came with a “tribute” photo of himself against the backdrop of the sky, complete with the words “In loving memory of Juan Karlos ‘JK’ Labajo.”
“Love to my supporters. Di ko pa kayo iiwan. Marami pa tayong tataluning mga evil entities. Marami pa tayong pababagsaking mga sinungaling at walang puso,” Labajo noted in a comment.
(Love to my supporters. I am not about to leave you now. There are still a lot of evil entities to defeat. There are many liars and heartless people out there that we still need to bring down.)
Prior to debunking the said rumors, Labajo shared on Instagram his weight loss progress amid the pandemic-induced quarantine.
“Good news naman tayo (Now let’s get to some good news). Nag lose nako ng (I have lost) around 8kgs this whole quarantine. Let’s see,” he posted on Instagram on June 4.
After being asked by one Instagram user @erikamagora how he was able to lose so much weight, Labajo replied, “[low-calorie] diet and short but intense workouts [every day].”
Labajo is among the long list of artists and entertainers who have been joining the online protests against the controversial anti-terror bill, which now only awaits President Rodrigo Duterte’s signature to be passed into law. /ra
