Actor Dingdong Dantes and his fellow reservists of the Marine Affiliated Reserve Combat Service Support Batallion (MARCSSBn) handed out food packs, personal protective equipment (PPEs) and other goods to frontliners stationed at checkpoints in Pasay City.

Dantes, a lieutenant commander of the Philippine Navy, took to Instagram yesterday, May 21, to share with fans a glimpse of him in uniform and thank other reservists and frontliners manning checkpoints throughout Luzon.

“Refill muna bago puntahan ang mga katropa ko sa [MARCSSBn] na assigned sa Pasay,” he captioned a photo of himself standing beside a standee of him at a gas station.

(Just getting a refill before we go to our troopmates from the MARCSSBn assigned in Pasay.)

“Bitbit ko ang ilang goodies from @wilkinsph, PPEs, at higit sa lahat — ang mainit na chibog mula sa aming tahanan. Isang pagpupugay at pasasalamat sa lahat ng reservists na volunteers at ilang linggo nang naka-deploy sa iba’t ibang lugar sa Luzon para tumulong sa ating mga kababayan,” he added.

(We bring goodies from @wilkinsph, PPES, and most of all — the warm food from our home. A salute and thanks to all volunteer reservists who have been deployed at different areas in Luzon for weeks now to help our countrymen.)

The food distributed by Dantes and his colleagues were prepared by the actor’s wife, Marian Rivera. The actress has been using her cooking skills to help frontliners since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Arroz ala Cubana with boiled egg naman tayo ngayon para sa lunch ng ating frontliners at the checkpoints (Arroz ala Cubana with boiled egg today for lunch for our frontliners at checkpoints),” Rivera said.

We used Ate Glenda’s recipe and these meals will be delivered to Lingayen Pangasinan and Pasay. Thank you Mahal @dongdantes for distributing in Pasay. Stay safe everyone!” she added.

Dantes was bestowed the rank of lieutenant commander by the Philippine Navy on Jan. 27. He enlisted as a reservist for the Philippine Marine Reserve Force back in 2006, then formally became a marine reservist in 2009. He renewed his enlistment in 2017.  /ra
