Kim Atienza looks back on hosting 1st season of ‘Umagang Kay Ganda’
Kim Atienza took a trip down memory lane as he reminisced about his days on the first season of the morning TV show “Umagang Kay Ganda.”
Atienza posted old photos from his time as one of the original hosts of the said show on his Instagram page yesterday, May 13. He pointed out that the pictures were from 2008, a year after the show premiered.
He recalled how he was “so starstruck” to be working alongside Donita Rose, who appeared on the cover of TIME magazine’s Asian edition in July 1999, and Rica Peralejo, whom he called a “teen star.”

Along with the two actresses, Atienza also worked with Edu Manzano and broadcast journalist Pinky Webb, who were the main hosts of the show at the time.
“Those were fun fun years forever etched in my memory,” he said.

Atienza left the program in 2009 to join the noontime variety show “It’s Showtime” as one of its hosts. However, he eventually left the said production in 2016. Atienza now hosts the educational program “Matanglawin” and serves as the weatherman on “TV Patrol.” /ra
