Billie Eilish granted restraining order against fan who trespassed into her home

Pop star Billie Eilish has been granted a temporary restraining order against a man who trespassed in her parent’s property in the United States on multiple occasions.
Eilish’s fan, Prenell Rousseau, must now stay 200 yards (182.88 meters) away from the 18-year-old singer and her family, according to TMZ’s report last Monday, May 11.
Rousseau went to Eilish’s house seven times, according to the singer. During five of these instances, he apparently did not wear any face mask despite COVID-19 guidelines.
The 24-year-old man began showing up in the singer’s home last week. According to the report, Rousseau rang the doorbell in Eilish’s house and asked if the “Ocean Eyes” singer lived there.
When Eilish’s father, Patrick O’Connell, told the man that he got the wrong address, Rousseau still returned to the house later that day and showed “erratic behavior.”
Eilish recalled how the man remained on their property and began reading a book. He also periodically did a monologue while sitting on their porch. When the singer’s father asked the man to leave, Rousseau refused.
Eventually, security was able to send the man away but he returned. The man spent the night laying down behind a wall in the singer’s property, according to the report. The next day, Rousseau tried to open the door to enter Eilish’s house. The man apparently did not wear gloves when he touched the doorbell and doorknob multiple times.
Rousseau was taken into custody twice but the police told Eilish that they could not place the man in jail. As per report, trespassing is a non-violent offense in the U.S. and amid the ongoing health crisis, correctional facilities are trying to keep non-violent offenders out of jail to curb the virus’s spread.
With the temporary restraining order now in place, Rousseau must not only keep his distance from the singer and her family, he also has to cease from having all manner of contact with them. Rousseau’s hearing is scheduled for June 1. Cha Lino/JB
