Actress Cherry Pie Picache expressed her love and admiration for action star Coco Martin as the two, along with many other celebrities, appeal for the resumption of ABS-CBN’s operations and franchise renewal.

Picache thanked Martin for his bravery and strong resolve, stressing that the actor is a good role model for the youth, including her children.

“Alam mong noon pa kita mahal at nirerespeto anak @mr.cocomartin… higit na higit pa ngayon bukod sa pagiging aktor, kundi bilang tao!!!” Picache said on Instagram last Saturday, May 9.

(You know that I have loved and respected you since the beginning, my child, Coco Martin. More so now, not only as an actor, but as a person.)

“Alam naming hindi madali. Maraming salamat sa tapang, paninindigan, prinsipyo at pagmamahal. Sa pagiging mabuting ehemplo para sa mga kabataan, para sa anak ko,” she added.

(We know that it is not easy. Thank you very much for your bravery, your resolve, your principles and your love. For being a good role model for the youth and for my children.)

Martin is one of the most vocal celebrities regarding the ABS-CBN shutdown issue and has earlier called out Solicitor General Calida and the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) for “making a fool out of Filipinos.”

Martin has also hit back at trolls and bashers of the network, even pushing for the “starve a troll” campaign by encouraging others to ignore their comments “so they do not get paid.”

“Marami pang kabutihan ang ginagawa mo na hindi alam ng marami (You have been doing so much good deeds that many people do now know about). May our good Lord bless, guide and protect you always!!!” Picache stressed.

Martin’s TV series “Ang Probinsyano” is one of the network’s long-running and top-rated shows, employing cast, staff and crew that have bonded with the actor over the years. He spent his birthday with a number of them last year in Batangas.

Many of the Philippines’ biggest stars, both from ABS-CBN and rival network GMA 7, have been showing support for the media giant and are clamoring for press freedom. JB
