Rocco Nacino and his girlfriend Melissa Gohing launched an initiative to provide food to families in far-flung areas amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Nagtitipid tayong lahat para tumagal ang budget natin pambili ng makakain, pero marami sa mga kababayan natin ay wala nang pambili ng kahit ano,” the actor said on Instagram last Tuesday, May 5.
(We are all saving so our budgets for food will last longer, but many of our countrymen have no more money to buy anything.)
In light of this, the couple decided to launch the campaign called “Food from the Heart” to help those living in need “hang in there a little longer.”
“Your donations, big or small, will go a long way in helping our fellow citizens gain strength and hope,” Nacino said. “Tulong tulong tayo dito (We help each other here).”
The actor then asked those interested in donating to their effort to contact him through a private message.
Aside from Nacino, his fellow celebrities such as Dingdong Dantes, Angel Locsin and Anne Curtis have also extended their help to those affected by the spread of the coronavirus in the Philippines. /ra
