Karel Marquez donates 300 face shields to COVID-19 frontliners
Karel Marquez has handed out 300 face shields to frontliners combating the spread of the coronavirus in the Philippines.
The actress purchased the items with the money she earned from her food business Momma Karel’s Kitchen, as per her Instagram post last Sunday, April 26.

Marquez also distributed some of the protective gear to the security guards and other staff of the condominium she lives in.
“They’re super happy because they told me that they need it badly because they just wear the black face masks so thank you for helping me help them through your orders,” she said.
Article continues after this advertisementAlong with her gesture, Marquez’s nonprofit organization Crisis Donation Philippines is also accepting monetary or in-kind donations such as personal protective equipment and food. The collected donations will be used to help distribute more supplies every week to those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Aside from Marquez, her fellow celebrities such as Angel Locsin, Marian Rivera and Anne Curtis have also extended their help to the frontliners working to stop the spread of the coronavirus. /ra
