While Archie Alemania has yet to publicly address the act of lasciviousness complaint filed against him by fellow Kapuso actress Rita Daniela, his wife Gee Canlas intrigued netizens with her cryptic post about “truth.”
“The truth doesn’t need defending; it speaks for itself,” Canlas’ post read, as seen on her Instagram page on Sunday, Nov. 17.
She added in the caption, “All will be answered in due time.”
Canlas did not immediately expound on her post. Nonetheless, she received words of support and comfort from her followers via the comments section.
Daniela filed an act of lasciviousness complaint against Alemania—with whom she worked in the GMA TV series “Widows’ War”—before the Office of the City Prosecutor in Bacoor City last Oct. 30.
Lascivious conduct is defined as “the intentional touching, either directly or through clothing of the genitalia, anus, groin, breast, inner thigh, or buttocks.” Under Article 336, a person found guilty of acts of lasciviousness shall be punished by imprisonment that can range from six months and one day to six years.
Daniela alleged in her complaint affidavit that the actor had sexually violated her by kissing and touching her without consent after a work gathering held last September.
While Alemania has yet to address the matter publicly, he reportedly denied Daniela’s allegations in a conversation with veteran columnist Cristy Fermin. As per Fermin, the actor will file a counter-affidavit to respond to the actress’ complaint.
Alemania, however, did not immediately confirm this publicly.
