Marian Rivera, Judy Ann Santos, others auction pre-loved clothes for COVID-19 charities

Actresses Marian Rivera, Judy Ann Santos and Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach have donated their pre-loved clothes, bags and shoes for COVID-19 relief efforts.

All proceeds of the initiative “Fashion for Others” will go to the beneficiaries of the fashion rental store Vestido Manila, as seen on Rivera’s Instagram post yesterday, April 23.

While shopping for clothes, people can choose among three beneficiaries including Movement Group’s Project Nourish, which provides over 1,500 packed meals a day to medical teams, quarantine patients and workers in emergency quarantine facilities in construction sites.

The two others are the Rajo Laurel Group, which is currently manufacturing personal protective equipment (PPE) for healthcare workers and volunteers, and the People for Accountable Governance and Sustainable Action (PAGASA), which provides survival packs to families in communities that have lost their livelihood.

The auction of Rivera’s clothes will begin today, April 24, at 1 p.m. in the fashion store’s Instagram page.

“I’m sharing some of my personally selected pieces to #FashionForOthers benefit sale,” Rivera said.

Santos also sold her pre-loved clothes, bags and shoes last Wednesday, April 22.

“Shop for a cause!” the actress encouraged.

Wurtzbach likewise sold some of her designer shoes, bags and couture gowns through the COVID-19 fundraiser, as per her Instagram post on April 20.

Similarly, actors Jericho Rosales and Matteo Guidicelli auctioned off some of their items for TV host Drew Arellano’s COVID-19 relief effort.

The funds collected from the initiative were for the benefit of a charity organization that provides food to families in a barangay in Antipolo City, called PUSOkitchen.  /ra
