Dingdong Dantes’ organization gives food packs to 3,600 families in need during COVID-19 crisis

Dingdong Dantes, through his organization YesPinoy Foundation, has been able to provide for thousands of marginalized families during the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine.

YesPinoy is a partner of Andrew’s Fund PH, a fundraising program that involves Catholic organizations and dioceses, namely Caritas Manila, Caritas Novaliches, Magna Anima Teachers College, and the dioceses of Antipolo, Novaliches and Cubao.

The initiative seeks “to provide the underprivileged sector with food during COVID-19,” according to its Facebook page.

Dantes shared an update on donations over the past weeks after the Metro Manila lockdown began on March 15.

He said, “As of today, we have been successful in sharing 3,600 food and rice packs to families of daily minimum wage earners in Payatas, Smokey Mountain, District 5 of Quezon City, Maisan in Sampaloc Manila, Brgy. Longos in Malabon, Barangays 149 & 154 in Pasay City, Members of the Stunt Association of the Philippines, and to marginalized communities of the Dioceses of Novaliches, Cubao and Antipolo with Marikina. In addition, 150 rice packs will be provided to the Diocese of Malolos.”

“A total of 3,915 meals were also delivered to our frontliners from our partner hospitals — Quezon City General Hospital, Dr. Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital and Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center.”

Celebrities who have given support to the charity program include Dantes’ wife, actress Marian Rivera, actors Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo, and comedienne Pokwang who donated 1,000 bags of goods last April 3 to Cainta and Marikina.
