Angel Locsin spoke in defense of her fellow actress Liza Soberano after a netizen questioned the latter’s contribution amid the ongoing health crisis.

The netizen compared Soberano with Locsin and actress Kathryn Bernardo, who have been helping out with the pandemic. Locsin called out the Twitter user for “bashing” Soberano, complaining that the unsolicited mention on social media prevented her from getting more important COVID-19 information on her feed.

Last April 2, Soberano pointed out that during this challenging time, what people need is “empathy not threats” via her Twitter page.

Soberano’s tweet came after President Rodrigo Duterte warned the public during a national address that he would not hesitate to order soldiers to “shoot” violators of the enhanced community quarantine.

A netizen responded to the “Make It with You” star yesterday, April 10, tagging Locsin and Bernardo.

Locsin responded to the netizen asking fans not to flood her feed. The actress also retweeted the comment on her account to reiterate the message.

“Guys, please don’t flood my feed with this,” she said. “Mahirap makakuha ng info na related sa covid kung matatakpan lang ng mga bashing. Ayaw nyo ng basher pero ginagawa nyo rin. Hindi tama.”

(It is hard to get information related to COVID-19 when it is being overshadowed by all this bashing. You guys do not like bashers, but you do it too. [That] is not right.)

Locin explained why it is important for her to keep her feed clear, through a series of tweets on the thread. Responding to a netizen’s (@gummysmilejah) suggestion to filter out some accounts, the actress reasoned that she could not filter it because she reads her mentions on Twitter.

“I know how to filter,” Locsin later said. “Again, binabasa ko ang mentions incase may importante. Wag lang ako iflood ng away fans. Nakakaloka.”

(Again, I read my mentions in case there is something important. Just do not flood me with fans’ dispute. It’s crazy.)

Soberano has yet to react on the issue, as of this writing. Meanwhile, Locsin’s initiative UniTENTweStandPH has helped 51 hospitals and has raised almost P10 million.  /ra
