Julia Barretto poses topless for birthday portrait: ‘This time, I am choosing me’

/ 04:45 PM March 10, 2020

Julia Barretto is making a statement for her 23rd birthday.

The actress posted a topless photo of herself on Instagram today, March 10, flaunting her clear skin and looking fresh with her hair in waves. Her face was made up with a floral design with the number 23. The portrait was taken by sought-after photographer Gee Plamenco Jr.

Barretto wrote: “23. In this chapter in my life, I am FREE. Free to speak. Free to act. Free to feel. Free to love. Because this time, I am choosing ME.”

The message of self-love comes following a rough year of facing detractors after being linked to the breakup of Gerald Anderson and Bea Alonzo. She has also been involved in the family feud between her mom, Marjorie, and aunts Gretchen and Claudine.

With her declaration and daring photo, it seems that she wishes to be free in her choices, now that she is 23.

Barretto stars in her own series, “I Am U,” in which she faces her doppelganger. It has been streaming on iWant since February.  /ra
