Bogart the Explorer figures in ‘freak surfing accident’

Bogart the Explorer (real name: Marco Ho) sustained a serious cut in his right leg after a “freak surfing accident” over the weekend.

He recounted the incident on his Facebook page yesterday, March 3, saying that his surfboard’s fin had caused the cut. He also accompanied his post with a photo of him on a hospital bed with his right leg wrapped in a bandage.

“[T]he impact was so strong, the fin broke off,” he said. “I lost a ton of blood and meat.”

“The main vein in my right leg was cut but missed my main artery by 1 [centimeter],” the comedian added.

Due to the accident, Bogart will need multiple operations of reconstructive surgery and skin grafting, along with blood transfusions and physical therapy so that he can walk again.

The comedian also uploaded another photo showing the final diagnosis of his injury, which stated that he suffered from a “soft tissue defect [popliteal] area with transection [gastrocnemius] with soleus muscle right secondary to fall.”

Following the incident, he assured his followers that he is now stable and asked for prayers for his recovery.

Bogart then took the time to express his gratitude for the medical professionals from the Lianga District Hospital and San Francisco Doctors. He also thanked his wife, Jeanette, and daughter Music.

Despite the injury, the comedian stays positive about the situation, saying, “This too shall pass.” Bogart is currently in Davao to undergo more operations for his recovery.  /ra
